In order for any solutions to be effective, it must satisfy some or all of the following criteria.
Criteria:

Ultimately, bushfires cannot be fully prevented because of natural causes. This however, does not mean that bushfires will forever cause massive amounts of damage as naturally caused bushfires only account for 6% of all bushfires. This means that finding a way to reduce deliberately/accidentally caused bushfires will significantly reduce the damage that bushfires cause throughout Australia.
In order to satisfy all the criteria, a number of solutions must be used as no one solution will satisfy all the criteria.
To satisfy the first criterion, an increase of awareness via advertisements, individuals providing information and Operation Firesetter will significantly reduce deliberately lit bushfires. Advertisements about accidental causes of bushfires will also reduce accidentally caused bushfires.
To satisfy the second criterion, a reduction or prevention of buildings built in high bushfire risk areas will reduce damage caused by bushfire. Individuals installing guards on their house is also effective at reducing damage. Increased control burns will also be very effective at reducing the damage caused by bushfires.
To satisfy the last criterion, individuals can install fire bunkers but this solution may be infeasible. A way for individuals to reduce fatalities as a result of bushfires is to simply avoid living near bushfire-prone areas. At a local level, the best way to solve the problem is to educate people about bushfire safety and bushfire prevention strategies.
Criteria:
- Reduce/eliminate the number of deliberately/accidentally caused bushfires
- If reducing/eliminating bushfires is not feasible, then reduce the damage caused by bushfires
- Reduce the amount of fatalities as a result of bushfires
